Group transport in Meknes
Meknes was Moulay Ismail’s imperial capital, and its monumental gate Bab Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and the vast Heri es-Souani granaries make it a favourite with history and school groups.
Most visitors combine Meknes with the Roman site of Volubilis and the hilltop town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, both around half an hour away. Fez is about an hour east, so a day trip from Fez, or a transfer between the two, is easy to arrange.
